An overview of our CSR activities
"Coming from a small village of Bokaro district, I've never imagined being a part of this wonderful journey offered by Vedanta ESL Skill School. I'm so fortunate that I got to learn about this. When CSR team visited our village and informed us about this school, my elder brother developed his interest for undergoing training for Solar PV Installer. My parents initially refused to allow him to attend such training, but they eventually agreed, and they now have realized that the decision was correct because my brother is now placed at Ahemdabad and is earning. After a year, I joined here as well and am doing my best with the help of my teacher and the ESL CSR team. I'm confident for achieving great heights in my career."

"I would have never imagined that after marriage and having children, I would be able to work and learn new skills because I come from a very small village in Bokaro, Madhunia, but it is now possible, thanks to the Nand Ghar project of ESL CSR team. Nand Ghar looks after my 3-year-old daughter so that I can work without worrying about her. Sevika and Sahayika look after all the children here from the village, and they teach them through e-learning activities. CSR team is also assisting me in learning new skills so that I can better assist my family."

"I belong to Siyaljori village and currently I'm studying in Std. 9. After CSR team initiated the Archery Academy, they came to our school where first time I got to interact with our trainer. Although earlier I wasn't aware of the term 'Archery' but by the time I've joined, it has been a year, I got to learn many things about this skill. When we started initially, we didn't have proper practising area and facilities as of now, for that we're thankful to the CSR team. I've participated in many competitions, in which I qualified the state championship with bronze medal. Also, I'm planning and practising to get selected for nationals too."

"I'm a native of Bijuliya, Bokaro where I live with my family. After completing my 12th, I thought of preparing for the competitive exams so that I can get a job and provide support to my family. Earlier, I used to travel to distant coaching centres and that was really harassing for me as after reaching home we need to practice the topics which has been covered in the class. Meanwhile I got to know about the Vedanta ESL Excel 30 Centre from my friends that here they're providing coaching for competitive exams, that also for free of cost. So, I decided to join the batch here for the reason being that it's convenient and now my time is saved. And after joining I found it comfortable, since here I get all necessary facilities as an aid for my studies including doubt sessions, preparatory tests along with supportive faculties. Recently, I've qualified the SSC GD Examination and since we don't have such facilities nearby for the students who are preparing for the competitions, I'm thankful to Vedanta ESL for providing us with such facilities."

"I'm from the Siyaljori in Bokaro. Before joining Vedanta ESL project- JIVIKA, I was only a housewife. As part of this project, I learnt and got new skills such as spawn making, mushroom and puffed rice production. As a result, I'm now contributing financially to my family. I also invited other women in my village to participate in this project, and they're now earning money and assisting their families. This has been extremely beneficial in obtaining work in tributary communities, as well as increasing the beneficiaries' capabilities through soft skills training and exposure visits."

"I'm contributing here as a farmer, where we're producing different vegetables through inter-cropping method using the solar energy for irrigation and cultivation of the land which used to be barren before we have started this initiative with the help of ESL CSR team and NABARD. We also got the training for the cultivation technique of which we're able to earn our livelihood and support our families, through selling all these productions of vegetables in market. We're planning to extend the working boundaries to gain better profit."

"I'm from the village of Rampur in Bokaro. Previously, I, along with other villagers, had difficulty getting medical facilities near our home, and for minor issues, we had to travel kilometres, but now that the Vedanta ESL Health Care Centre has opened, we've access to all medical facilities, and the best part is that it is close to our village. This centre also provides us with lab test facilities, such as sugar test, malaria, typhoid, haemoglobin, etc. so we've less problems. All the villagers come here for treatment, and they appreciate the ESL CSR team's initiative."

"I'm from Bandhdih village of Bokaro district, Jharkhand. I, along with other villagers have been benefitted in many ways from this project. Earlier, there were no proper roads in our village, but as part of this project, the ESL CSR team built a 15-kilometer road that connected 9 villages, making it easier and safer for us to get around. In addition, 10 new ponds were built, each with stairs and changing rooms for women. The pond had helped us to earn money from daily activities of irrigation and fisheries."

"I'm from Siyaljori village. During summers, our village faces difficulty in getting clean drinking water for our daily chores. Our village have wells, but it is located far away from our homes. Women and children are frequently in charge of fetching water as our household lack safe and dependable supply, particularly one that is located near our home. These solar operated Drinking Water Structure, installed under Project SWAJAL has provided us with a safe, reliable, and sustainable source of drinking water which is available 24*7. Apart from that, our village is being benefitted with Water Supply on social occasions, Sprinkling of Water on roads and cleanliness drives organized under the Project. SWAJAL has made a positive impact in our lives."
